Isaiah 54 – Fruit Expansion

Hey FBE-ers,

Dried up, empty, and worthless.

What can a human do for God?
When will God, the source of all that is good, look down on a person and be impressed?

…even if a person was “good.”

But we were sinners.
Each of us living as if God were not God.
Gorging ourselves on His tree – The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
Each of us drooling over the promise of choosing for ourselves what is good and evil.
Rejecting trust in God.
Denying faithfulness to Him for our own whims of pride and lusts.

It was a back-alley organ removal.
We sloppily sliced our souls open and removed our own hearts and carved out our marrow. Bloodless, lifeless self worshipers void of trust in God.

Dried up, empty, and worthless.

But then…
the fount of living waters poured Himself out for us.

Isaiah 53:5-6  “He was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD has laid upon him the iniquity of us all.”

53:12  “There fore I will divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many and makes intercession for the transgressors.”

Christ poured His living water onto what was barren.
He brought resurrection instead of death.
He sent His Holy Spirit to fill us all as fresh springs of His life and establish us as adopted sons of glory, coheirs to the throne of eternity.

Sing, O barren one, who did not bear;
break forth into singing and cry aloud,
you who have not been in labor!
For the children of the desolate one will be more
than the children of her who is married,” says the LORD.
“Enlarge the place of your tent,
and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out;
do not hold back; lengthen your cords
and strengthen your stakes.
For you will spread abroad to the right and to the left,
and your offspring will possess the nations
and will people the desolate cities.
Isaiah 54:1-3

We have been justified. We stand holy before God in Christ.
We have been infused with the fruit-producing power of the Holy Spirit of God.

Let us walk in the Spirit.
Let us sing songs of spiritual fertility.
Let the fruit of the Spirit flow from our faithful hearts.

Let us share the Gospel of Jesus Christ – the power of the resurrection of Christ for the reconstitution of our souls before God – to everyone in our circles of life.
Let us share the Gospel by the way that we live.
And let us share the Gospel by word of mouth, speaking the truth in love as if sharing the crystal clear waters of life from our lips.

Expand your tents!
Expand the tent of your heart to heed the Spirit’s calling in your life.
Expand the tent of your expectation to see God moving in the lives of your friends, family, co-workers, and strangers in the market.
And let us, by walking in the fertility of the Spirit, expand the tents of our fellowship as the masses come to follow Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

You were barren.
You were dead.
You were dried up, empty, and worthless.

And Christ died for you.
He rose again for you.
He ascended on high and sent His Spirit upon you.

You are full of the Spirit of adoption – made worthy of His inheritance.
And you are able to produce much fruit.

Expand your tents.
And may our offspring indeed possess the nations and people the desolate cities.
In Jesus’ Name.

Expandingly Yours,
